Getting Your Photos in a Snap!

How many weddings have you been to where you see this horribleness (is that a word??) on the table?

I’m sure you’ve been the culprit of taking or being in unnecessary, crotch shots, shoe shots, up the nose shots, blurry, mis-angled, and undeletable (that for sure is not a word!) shots!

Depending on your guest count, purchasing these cameras, plus the processing fee can run you about $300.  Half of the pictures aren’t worth being used and you end up wasting a piece of your budget on horrible photos.

What if you could have guests upload photos automatically through their iPhones or Android phones while still at your wedding?

There’s an APP for that!

The company is called Wedding Snap, based out of the USA of course, but servicing Canada and many other countries as well.

Packages start at $99(USD) which includes a one year online, unlimited storage photo album, unlimited photo uploads during and after your reception.  Additional packages supply you with additional albums to add to your account for your Bachelorette, Jack and Jill, Wedding Shower etc.  You can also get 250 customized information cards for your couples to pass out at their reception with the instructions on how to download the app from the app store (free to your guests) and a username/password to upload the photos to your private album.

Guests who have a Blackberry (I know, I know, I’m switching soon!) or would like to upload photos from their digital cameras after the reception can do so online. The process is similar to uploading photos to Facebook!

Afterwards, with the click of a button, you can download all the photos to your computer to print, upload photos to Facebook to share or send prints to your online printing store to print!

Ajax Spring Bridal Show 2012

On Sunday February 26, 2012 Morganley Weddings & Events participated as a vendor at the Ajax Spring Bridal Show 2012 at the Ajax Convention Centre.

We previously posted about fire wood and how we were going to use it at our booth!  We were visited by about 400 brides last Sunday!  We thank each and every one of you for coming to speak to us!

Our inspiration for our booth decor was from Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton’s Wedding.  The logs were found from various Christmas Tree farms and cut to hold candles or business cards.  Annie Lane helped to pull the vision together and supplied all of the rentals, the backdrop and most of the linen. Eva and Nancy are incredible to work with!Above is a buckle in our backdrop that Annie Lane provided for us.  When Morganley went to the showroom to discuss our booth decor, this immediately caught our eye and we knew we just had to have it!

We visited Christmas Tree Lots during Christmas time in order to get some stumps to cut into candles.  We even got a bit creative and crafted a business card holder!  Belt buckles that I’ve collected (and worn) over the years were tied and displayed on the back of a chiavari bar stool with a piece of burlap.  This was probably my favourite piece of the entire booth!

I’m so lucky to have had past clients come out and help at the booth as well as April. Thank you!!

Morganley Weddings & Events was created in 2010 by Kimberley Choy.  Kim is the owner and principal planner of Morganley.  The name came from Kim’s middle name: Morgan and the ‘ley’ from Kimberley!

Kim is certifed by the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada Inc.  I am Kim.   I specialized in Event Management in college, where I obtained my Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism and then went back and got my post graduate diploma in Event Management.  I love planning events.  Big or small.   From birthday parties (surprise one’s too!), anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, bachelor parties and of course, weddings!   I love weddings!  It is the most important day of a couple’s new life together and I love to be there to make it special for them! 

Hiring a Wedding Planner can be the most important decision you make when planning a wedding.  You only get married once (hopefully), we attend weddings every weekend!  We know how it’s done, we know the proper etiquette, we’ve been trained to do this and we know how to save you money and time!

I am bold and confident.  I say what’s on my mind.   I love purple.  I love country music (don’t hold that against me).  I have a sarcastic sense of humor.
