Wedding Rehearsal Dresses We Love!

Choosing the right dress for your rehearsal dinner can be just as hard as choosing the dress for your wedding day!  First and foremost, choose a dress that matches the formality of the event.  Whether your dress is taking place at a five-star restaurant or a beach side restaurant, you don’t want to stand out and be too over dressed or not dressed enough.

Below are a few of our favourite dresses we’ve found online and available to you!

We love accessories SO much, so why not dress these up with a few chunky necklaces, rock it with some wicked pumps or bling it up with a sparkly cuff!    Don’t forget the nails – give them a fresh coat of paint for your rehearsal!

BCBGMaxazria Dress – $268

This is a perfect dress for a girl with an edge – dress it up with some spiky accessories, sparkly shoes and an awesome clutch, like the one pictured here.

BCBGMaxazria – $338

This dress is so elegant, and that’s why we love it!  Style it up with a simple white clutch and some gold or silver accessories.

BCBGMaxazria -$368

How fun is this one?  We love the tiered ruffles.  Jazz this dress up with some funky jewels or some bright shoes!

Kensie, $101.75 from Macy’s

This dress is a bit more casual but can totally be dressed up with some accessories to make it ready for the red carpet!

The best part about dressing up for the rehearsal is that if you have found more than 1 pair of shoes that you absolutely just had to have for the wedding day – you can wear them to the wedding rehearsal!

Who says that your wedding rehearsal dress has to be white?  If you find a coloured or sequined dress you absolutely love, rock it girl!!

Dion Phaneuf and Elisha Cuthbert Engaged!

It’s another great Canadian Romance!  I always love when two Canadian’s get together and stay together!

From: Google Images

Dion Phaneuf, Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs since the 2009/10 season, and actress Elisha Cuthbert are engaged to be married!

Elisha Cuthbert is the former co-host of the Canadian Children’s TV Series Popular Mechanics for Kids and more recently as Kim on 24 and Alex on Happy Endings.

The Alberta-natives have been dating since May 2008.  They announced and celebrated their engagement to about 40 of their friends and family at The New Glasgow Lobster Restaurant in PEI on Sunday!

Congratulations to them both!  I’m excited to see what their wedding looks like…

Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger…engaged?!

Canada’s punk-rock princess Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger of Canada’s Love-to-Hate Rock Band, Nickelback recently announced their engagement on August 8.  Chad popped the question to his soon-to-be-bride after just 6 short months of dating!

Chad proposed with a whopping 14-carat pear-shaped diamond ring!!  Wouldn’t you say “What The Hell!” why not?

The 14-carat ring can range from $600,000 – $3million and is about the same size of a Canadian Nickel!

Where do you think the couple will tie the knot?  Do you think it will be a big elaborate affair or a small soiree with close family and friends?  Will it be on Canadian Soil?

Sailing Away in Toronto with WPIC

TORONTO – August 20, 2012 –

Monday night was the perfect night for a boat cruise around the Toronto Harbourfront!  While we almost got stuck with a thunderstorm, it turned out to be a fabulous night organized by Tracy Nolan of FCL Weddings, the new Durham Region Rep for WPIC.

We were on board Mariposa’s Showboat!

So peaceful!

Tracy designed each one of the four tables after a certain person in the WPIC Alumni.  I thought this was such a creative idea and she got the designs pretty bang on!

Clockwise from top left – Tracey & Danielle Table (WPIC logo!), Kim Choy table (so country chic), Jenn Borgh Table (purple and Jamaica) and Claudia Kent Table (pearls and roses)

Captura Photography was there and ready to take some head shots for each attendee!

Lini Campbell Photography captured the entire night beautifully!

Hair Candy Couture was on board showcasing their gorgeous products for the entire bridal party!  Her hair pieces and rosette clutches were stunning!

Sprinkld with Love brought samples of their mini cupcakes for us to try!  I had the maple bacon flavour – so delicious!    I’d totally be down to try to “Jagerbomb” and “Strawberry Champagne” cupcakes for 19+!

Paragon DPI Printing also showed off their line of products and explained that anything can be done with printing these days!  They also offer a WPIC discount!

The rest of the cruise we were able to enjoy at our leisure – we got some pretty stunning shots of the Toronto skyline!

Love it!

Thanks Tracy for organizing this Durham Region Get Together!

Getting Your Photos in a Snap!

How many weddings have you been to where you see this horribleness (is that a word??) on the table?

I’m sure you’ve been the culprit of taking or being in unnecessary, crotch shots, shoe shots, up the nose shots, blurry, mis-angled, and undeletable (that for sure is not a word!) shots!

Depending on your guest count, purchasing these cameras, plus the processing fee can run you about $300.  Half of the pictures aren’t worth being used and you end up wasting a piece of your budget on horrible photos.

What if you could have guests upload photos automatically through their iPhones or Android phones while still at your wedding?

There’s an APP for that!

The company is called Wedding Snap, based out of the USA of course, but servicing Canada and many other countries as well.

Packages start at $99(USD) which includes a one year online, unlimited storage photo album, unlimited photo uploads during and after your reception.  Additional packages supply you with additional albums to add to your account for your Bachelorette, Jack and Jill, Wedding Shower etc.  You can also get 250 customized information cards for your couples to pass out at their reception with the instructions on how to download the app from the app store (free to your guests) and a username/password to upload the photos to your private album.

Guests who have a Blackberry (I know, I know, I’m switching soon!) or would like to upload photos from their digital cameras after the reception can do so online. The process is similar to uploading photos to Facebook!

Afterwards, with the click of a button, you can download all the photos to your computer to print, upload photos to Facebook to share or send prints to your online printing store to print!

So what does it look like?  To view a sample album, go here and enter the password: ashley45

One more thing that I totally love is the corsages.  Whether these are used for a wedding for the mother of the bride or groom or just to dress up an everyday outfit, I totally love them!  Imagine it on your blazer???

Real Wedding Wednesday – Sandra & Nick

Happy Real Wedding Wednesday!

Today’s featured wedding is Sandra and Nick.   Sandra and Nick hired Morganley for Month of Management services.  I first met Sandra when she was a bridesmaid in Karena & Stan’s wedding.

Sandra is probably the most organized bride I’ve ever had!  She knew everything she wanted and made it happen and as a result their wedding was gorgeous!

Upon signing with Morganley, Sandra and Nick were told that the week prior to their wedding, their coordinator would be away at a conference with limited phone and email communication.  They were strangely calm about this!  That’s how cool this couple is!  We made sure that all details were completed before the conference.  Doing so made sure that Sandra and Nick had the down time to relax and not think about anything wedding related the week before!

During the time that their coordinator was at the conference, during email communication Sandra had told the coordinator – stop emailing me, go enjoy the beach, everything’s fine!

Sandra and Nick were married at a Catholic Church in Scarborough, ON.  This couple was so thankful and relieved for Morganley to be apart of their day that:

  • the groom thanked me when I sent him down the aisle
  • the groomsmen thanked me when I sent them down the aisle
  • the bridesmaids thanked me when I sent them down the aisle
  • the bride and her parents thanked me, followed by a huge hug from the bride
  • the bride and groom thanked me while coming up the aisle after being married
  • the bride and groom & bridal party along with family members thanked me non-stop throughout the entire wedding day

THAT is what makes me so happy to be a part of someone’s wedding day!  To get something so simple as a thank you, makes you know as a wedding coordinator you’ve done an amazing job at making their day special!

After the ceremony, the bridal party and family were off to Scarborough Golf & Country Club for photos with the amazingly talented and one of my favourite photographers: Leon Chai.

Cocktails and Reception took place Riviera Parque Banquet Convention Centre.  The staff here was so helpful, accommodating and organized!  I even got to sit down with the banquet manager at the end of the night for a little chat.  (How often does a wedding coordinator & banquet manager have time to do that??)  The room was so beautifully and simply decorated by Luxel Decor.  The centerpieces were designed by the bride and groom and created by Morganley’s Wedding Coordinators that day.  The bride and groom were speechless when they walked into the hall for the reveal!  It really was stunning!

The dinner was delicious, the bridal party put together some amazing speeches and the party rocked on into the wee hours of the night by Prodigy Entertainment.

Thank you to Morganley’s assistants, Megan, Janis & Diane and all of the fabulous vendors Sandra and Nick put together to create this perfect day.

Thank you, Sandra and Nick!
